I Make Digital Issues Tangible
Through play we can challenge how we understand the complex.
Play, Disinformation, or Media Literacy Anyone?
When we play we think about our actions in a system, discuss our surroundings with others, and explore possibilities. I harness that to study and address big issues like information manipulation or ethical AI use.

Simply, I look at where play and disinformation intersect. I ask who is playing with us by manipulating what we say, and how we can play to understand these spaces. I make, play, and analyze media literacy games. I look at the difference in how we study information manipulation compared to how these games teach it, and in doing so build new tools.
I call myself a designer, educator, and researcher because I actively blend all three in my practice. My work has led to some incredible collaborations like working with embassies, tech companies, militaries, journalists, and universities about the harms of media manipulation, our role, and how we can respond. I have made boardgames (i.e. Lizards and Lies), aescape rooms, card games, and digital games on these issues.
My research has earned scholarships from the FRQSC and Fulbright Canada. I have achieved various grants for my research from groups like Heritage Canada, foundry10, MILA, and the AQPC.

I believe I need to be as public as I can about my work, so if you have questions, want support in these conversations, would like to learn more, or just share what you are doing reach out. Don't be shy, because curiosity is the first step to understanding.
